Hunter's Judgment - Failure to check beyond target
After entering the residence the bullet struck the victim in the right foot at the base of the toes between his first and second toe.
Three hunters were located in a woodlot across the road from the victims residence. None of the hunters had permission from the land owner. One hunter walked to the southeast corner near Calla Rd. and was attempting to drive deer to the other two hunters. He spooked a deer that ran back to the east and fired one shot at the deer which was approximately 130 yards from his location. The bullet passed through the deer and continued across Calla Rd. where it struck a window of the victims residence and entered the home and struck the victim in the right foot. The bullet traveled a total of approximately 210 yards from the shooters location to the victims residence.

Gunshot wound to left index finger
On December 11 2020 3 hunters started their rabbit hunting trip at 1761 CR 1035 in Ashland Ohio at approximately 8:00 AM. All three individuals were wearing hunting bibs with an orange hat and vest. At approximately 12:00 PM they had kicked a rabbit out of a brush pile located in the middle of the property. The victim had shot and missed along with one of her hunting partners. They decided to kick through the brush pile once more to see if there were any other rabbits in it. While the victim was manipulating the brush pile with her left hand and a Remington 870 Express Magnum 12 gauge shotgun in the right hand she squeezed the trigger on accident shooting her left index finger with a Winchester Lead 6-shot shell. The victim possesses a valid resident hunting license but has never completed hunter education.
