IHEA-USA Welcomes Jae Ellison as its New Director of Education
The IHEA-USA announced that Jae Ellison has assumed the role of a new position within the organization, Director of Education.
Jae’s background is centered in Outdoor Education, primarily in higher education. He comes to the IHEA-USA from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he served as the Director of Outdoor Leadership & Education. Jae has spent his career connecting people to the out-of-doors through education and specializes in outdoor instructor training. Jae has an undergraduate degree in Outdoor Leadership from North Greenville University and a Master of Education degree in Outdoor Education Administration from Georgia College & State University. Jae’s passion for the outdoors and his ability to organize and lead instructional programming give the IHEA-USA a valuable resource as the head of its new continuing education and mentoring platform, Learnhunting.org. In addition, Jae’s work in program design, outdoor risk management, and policy oversight brings new insight to the IHEA-USA in this position.

As a contractor in 2022, Jae helped oversee the creation of the IHEA-USA’s new online courses for hunting and shooting sports educators that launched with their new national LearnHunting.org platform. In his new role, Jae will continue to lead this program while working closely with Subject Matter Experts to create courses specifically focused on the development of Hunter Education Instructors. In addition, Jae’s previous experience in standards and accreditation in outdoor education will serve the IHEA-USA well as they continue to promote safety in Hunter Education through their course accreditation process.
